Technical Facilities and Parking Hall in Wągrowiec
Contract with Koleje Wielkopolskie sp. z o.o. involved the implementation of two tasks. The first concerned the construction works of the technical facilities for servicing rail vehicles. It primarily included the construction of two fully equipped halls. The second task was carried out under the “design and build” formula. It involved the preparation of design documentation, followed by the construction of turnouts and access tracks to the technical facilities along with the reconstruction of the railway crossing.
The Main Hall, with a built-up area of 2,783 m2, is intended for inspections, repairs, external washing, and interior cleaning of vehicles.
In the Parking Hall, with a built-up area of 1,971.61 m2, vehicles will be parked during scheduled waiting times between runs. The hall has four tracks and accommodates two two-car diesel multiple units up to 45 meters in length.
On the site of the investment, a fuel station with two dispensers for refueling rail vehicles was also built, along with other site development elements such as: a waste shelter, a transformer station, a sealed tray for refueling fuel tanks, and full railway infrastructure. The project also included the construction of social rooms for employees, a rest and lodging area, and a training room for 50 people.
The second task included in the contract was carried out under the “design and build” formula. It involved the preparation of design documentation, followed by the construction of turnouts and access tracks to the technical facilities along with the reconstruction of the railway crossing.
As part of the investment, as much as 2.4 km of rails were installed, with a total weight of over 120 tons of steel. In the washing hall, the rails were placed in special concrete corridors and additionally coated with polyurethane resin. In the inspection hall, the rails are mounted on special supports – HEB 200 profile posts. Both halls have a length of as much as 108.5 meters.
The construction of the modern technical facilities for Koleje Wielkopolskie in Wągrowiec lasted two years, and the investment cost amounted to approximately 60 million zlotys.
