MPK Depot in Łódź
The bus depot of the Municipal Transport Company located on Limanowskiego Street, established in 1971, has changed its appearance. As part of the modernization, among other things, 98 modern charging and parking stations for electric buses were created. The facility has been adapted to service 200 vehicles.
As part of the investment, the previously existing inspection and repair halls as well as the office building were demolished. The main facility is a new workshop building with an area of over 6,800 m2, which includes, among other things, 25 service bays for MPK vehicles, as well as a car wash, vehicle inspection station, and administrative section. Social rooms for 500 drivers and 130 mechanics were also planned. A new fuel station was also built on the depot premises.
A new facility on Limanowskiego Street was established as the headquarters of the Disabled Persons Transport Department, which will be relocated from Tramwajowa Street along with shelters for 28 ZPON buses and facilities for over 60 of its employees.
During the depot modernization, the office building with the characteristic glass bay window known as the “stork’s nest” was completely demolished. The depot layout was redesigned; in the future, it is to become the headquarters of the MPK office, which is to be relocated from Tramwajowa Street.
