Malta Thermal Baths in Poznań
Malta Thermal Baths is one of the largest water recreational and sports complexes in Poland, with a total water surface area close to 5000 m2 and seating for 3,800 spectators. The project included the construction of a complex of Olympic sports and recreational pools meeting European standards, adapted for organizing international-level swimming events as well as various forms of recreation.
The sports section of the Malta Thermal Baths consists of two pools. The 50-meter Olympic pool has 10 lanes, and the appropriate placement of a floating platform allows for the separation of two 25-meter pools. The second pool, intended for diving and synchronized swimming, has 10 lanes each 2.5 m wide and a 5 m wide diving lane. The tower is equipped with platforms at heights of 10 m, 5 m, and 3 m. Four trampolines, each 3 m high, were also built, and special nozzles causing surface ripples in the water were installed. On both sides of the tower, there are warm-up pools of the “whirlpool” type.
The recreational part, i.e., the aquapark, is quite interesting. It includes 13 slides and 16 pools (including four outdoor ones). A novelty is the heated tube slide. Visitors can also take advantage of an extremely rich SPA offer, which includes the Sauna World. This consists of fourteen types of saunas, including:
- with color therapy,
- flower bath,
- outdoor saunas made of 200-year-old Kelo wood and a panoramic sauna,
- Turkish bath,
- snow grotto and salt graduation tower.
Malta Thermal Baths have gained the recognition of visitors. The record year was 2018, when nearly 1,200,000 people visited the Poznań complex! This is the best attendance result in the history of the facility.
The facility has earned the recognition of many experts and has been awarded multiple times, including a Nomination for the “Teraz Polska” Emblem, the “Platinum Drill” for project quality and execution quality, and a Distinction from the State Labour Inspectorate for an exceptionally safe method of conducting construction work.
