The Forest Opera is an amphitheater located in a forest valley, whose history dates back to the beginning of the last century. The first performance, “Night Camp in Granada” by Conradin Kreutzer, took place in this venue on August 11, 1909. In the pre-war years, the Forest Opera, called the second Bayreuth, gained international fame mainly thanks to the operas of Richard Wagner presented on its stage.
